Choti Choti Se Baat

A server who waits on your table with a cheerful smile
A cab driver who hurries over to open the passenger-side door
An elevator operator at a shopping mall who enquiries about the shopping experience
A hotel bellboy who goes beyond his job description to help us settle down in the hotel room
An auto rickshaw driver who agrees to drop me home even though my home location does not fall under his regular route
A Board of Director or a Senior Management member at workplace who always acknowledges and greets you
A co-passenger who helps you with your luggage
A fellow jogger who encourages you with a thumbs-up or a smile
A store attendant who patiently endures your numerous enqueries for numerous dresses of another colour, another pattern, another size, another brand, another material
A motorist who slows down the vehicle and allows you to cross over to the other side
A BEST driver who ensures that all passengers have indeed boarded before setting off
A devotee at a super-crowded temple who shares her vantage point so that you too can get a clear view of the deity

These people are not from my inner circle. But their choti-choti-se-baat appeals to me. And sometimes, while sending out a silent thank you, I give a different meaning to these lines:

Na jaane kyon, Hota hai yeh zindagi ke saath,
Achanak ye man, Kisi ke jaane ke baad,
Kare phir usiki yaad, Chhoti chhoti si baat...
